The challenge
A US ecommerce brand selling specialty women's handbags and accessories needed to turn high-intent search demand into profitable online sales. It also had to grow beyond buyers who already knew the brand.
The objective
Scale ecommerce revenue through Google Ads while keeping return on ad spend profitable.
Our strategy
We split the account into two jobs:
- Search campaigns capture shoppers actively searching for the product category.
- Performance Max captures broader ecommerce demand across Google's network, driven by the product feed.
Implementation
- Optimized keywords, the product feed and bidding strategies on an ongoing basis.
- Refined audience signals and remarketing audiences for Performance Max.
- Maintained conversion tracking so bidding optimized toward real sales.
Results (January–April 2026)
| Impressions | 2.87M+ |
|---|---|
| Clicks | 65,696 |
| CTR | 2.29% |
| Average CPC | $0.60 |
| Conversions | 8,971 |
| Revenue | $126,760+ |
| ROAS | 3.23x |
- Performance Max was the main revenue driver: 5,755 conversions and $84,037+ in revenue.
- Search delivered 3,215 conversions at an 18.55% CTR.
Key learnings
- For a niche product, Search and Performance Max do different jobs. Search captures existing intent; Performance Max scales reach through the feed.
- Feed quality and conversion tracking set the ceiling on what Performance Max can achieve.
